Susie Schoellkopf
Susie Schoellkopf resides in Buffalo, New York and is an active R-rated judge for hunters and equitation. She was a successful hunter rider and now is the owner and manager of SBS Farms training stable, one of the top show stables in the northeast. Her horse Jersey Boy won the prestigious $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby in 2011 at Wellington, Florida with professional rider Jennifer Alfano aboard. Jennifer Alfano trains and rides at SBS Farms and was the 1996 and 1997 World Hunter Champion.
Susie is also the Executive Director of the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center. She is a member of several U.S. Equestrian Federation committees and is a founder of the Horsemen’s Advisory Council. Susie somehow finds time to be a contributing writer for the Chronicle of the Horse in her own column.
Besides training top hunters and equitation riders in the U.S. and Canada, Susie Schoellkopf has served as a judge for the USEF for many years. She is chairman of the Junior Hunter Committee and serves on the Hunter Committee and the Licensed Officials Committee.
